Hastings
Since
1885, Hastings, a privately-owned company, has been a leading provider of
decorative architectural products in the U.S. market. Originally founded in
Hastings-on-the Hudson New York, as a manufacturer of asphalt and concrete
paving materials, the Company compiled a prestigious list of paving
installations throughout the United States. To this day, the perimeter of New
York’s Central Park is covered with Hastings signature hexagon asphalt pavers.
Early in
the 1970s, nearly one hundred years after it’s inception, the Company observed
the burgeoning American interest in European design and decided to diversify
its’ product range. Drawing upon a keen eye for contemporary style, Mario
Paone, the Company’s then President, created the Hastings Tile & Bath
Collection. Since then, Hastings has been at the forefront of influencing
contemporary style in the U.S. and has established itself firmly as a resource
for designers for tile and decorative plumbing products in both residential
and commercial settings.Aligning itself with leading design-driven European
manufacturers, Hastings provides a broad range of tile and bath products that
reflect emerging trends in contemporary design as well as timeless style.
In
March, 2000, the Company, sold the paving business and turned its’ full
attention to further developing the tile and bath business. Today, Hastings
Tile & Bath, Inc., headquartered on New York’s Long Island, has developed a
comprehensive dealer network in conjunction with its’ own Company-operated
showrooms and architectural and design sales force.
